Marco Massirio, manager of the Pulpadel Club, where the next International Padel Experience by Madison will take place, had a dream when he visited Spain in 2014: set up a paddle tennis club in his city, Turin. 4 years later you can say that this dream was fulfilled and this week the best international circuit of amateur paddleball will go for the fourth consecutive year to its tracks. We talked with him about paddle tennis, about the IPE by Madison and about his life around this sport.

How is the situation of the paddle in Turin? And in Italy?

Similarly, there is no difference at the provincial and national levels. We are in full evolution, there are several tracks and in the future there will be many more. In addition, many of the people who do not play tennis are being encouraged with the paddle and that is very positive for us.

How is your club’s project born and how do you work to grow day by day?

The project was born as a necessity, I was looking for a new job and I was on vacation in Spain, many friends I have there had a lot of fun with this sport and I got the idea of building the tracks in Torino. We talked about the year 2014, I contacted several clubs and I also went to Milan to visit the club of the current coach of the Italian team, Gustavo Spector, who has an incredible enthusiasm and contacted me immediately. In October 2014 we built two tracks and another group of entrepreneurs built another one, that’s how the padel started in Torino.

Why did you decide to join the International Padel Experience?

I met the International Padel Experience in Milan, when I first visited the Gardenella paddle club and I promised myself that I would join the project when I had my own tracks. This week we are going to celebrate the fourth tournament already.

What do you like most about the circuit?

The enthusiasm and enthusiasm that the organization puts into it. The calls of the players of other cities, the joy that transmits the paddle and the idea that the camepones can be found in the Final Master with players from all over the world. Everyone puts their best and besides sports, it is great to be able to share a Estrella Damm beer between game and match, in Spain this is more common but in Italy we are not used to it and it is wonderful.

What do you expect from the next Turin Open that will be held at the Pulpadel Club?

Of course I hope everything goes well and as planned, that no one is hurt and that both players and fans enjoy to the fullest. I also hope to see the level of many couples and as a last wish, I hope it does not rain.
