[:en]The International Padel Experience by Madison, sponsored by Estrella Damm, will make his second stop from 5 to 7 May in the Rockbrook Padel Club of Dublin

Joe Cabello, president of the Federation of Padel Ireland, analyzes the situation of the padel in the country and gives us the keys of the second test by Madison 2017 IPE.
-How is the evolution of the padel being in Ireland?
Padel arrived in Ireland by the hand of the Padel Federation of Ireland just over four years ago and the number of people who have passed through our facilities in Rockbrook Park School has already surpassed 4,000 players. It is not to a matter of beating any records here, but to highlight that the sport so loved by many, now in over 40 countries worldwide, continues to attract people of all ages and physical abilities.

-What is what attracts the padel to the Irish?
The activities we have been organising in Rockbrook have made many to choose padel to complement the sports the already do. In many cases it has made people take up padel as their first sport, as many players coming regularly practised almost no other sports before encountering padel. That means that the attractiveness of padel and its social dimension remains one of the most important points for the general public to choose padel and start doing sport. Besides, padel is a healthy and readily available sport to different levels of fitness. That has led many to take up padel as their number one activity in their weekly entertainment repertoire.
-What kind of activities are taking place from your club?

There have been many promotional activities organised by the Padel Ireland team that manages the facility to date, but certainly one of the activities to be highlighted is the tournaments between students at the school where the facility is hosted. A school is a clear reflection of the society in which we live, and therefore it can also see many levels of fitness and competition. In Rockbrook we found that padel has not only been well received by all students, teachers and ancillary staff, but it has also made many who hardly practised sport before now play padel regularly. They see this sport as something attractive and social and they opt for it easily. The school sports syllabus has already introduced padel as an official school sport and the physical education classes reflect our sport in their daily programme.
In addition to the sports camps and summer camps organised during the year, attended by nearly 500 students, we are now starting a new activity, the Inter Schools Padel League, which will count for the national ranking. These tournaments between schools are played in different categories and has caused many to take padel very seriously and seek to improve their standard.

-What values diffuses through the padel Federation?
We are very proud to be part of this achievement, as this not only contributes to the physical fitness of individuals, but also paves the way for many to enjoy good mental health and contributes to sociability.

-What does it mean for the Padel Federation of Ireland, for Dublin and for padel in Dublin to host the first ever Madison International Kids Tournament?

Well, for the Padel Federation of Ireland this means a tremendous satisfaction and impels us to continue promoting padel among young people. There are many boys and girls who already play padel regularly and attend classes and tournaments regularly. It is the reward to the perseverance and drive of all involved in the Irish Federation; we have seen how padel continues growing in this country every day.

To host the first Madison International Padel Tournament is something that will not only make padel a success here in the Irish capital, but also throughout Ireland. The number of players and new fans continues to increase and every year more and more people are taking up padel.

We hope that this edition of the Madison International for Kids will be the first of many in Dublin and that interest in our beautiful sport will continue to grow. The new padel facility in Bushy Park, which starts off with four padelcourts and nine tennis courts, will be a benchmark throughout the country and will be a great help to keep padel growing in Dublin and from Dublin.

-What are the prospects?
In the future, as many clubs become interested in our beautiful sport, we want to reach more people and be part of a peaceful revolution through sport. It is all about setting ourselves a clear goal: that of reaching many people of all physical and social conditions, including people with disabilities. This makes us very proud to bring padel to many so that they become familiar with it and practise it… padel is definitely for everyone![:]
