[:es]El International Padel Experience by Madison, patrocinado por Estrella Damm, hará su sexta parada en el Padel im TC Unterengstringen de Zúrich, del 29 al 31 de julio. La ciudad suiza acogerá por primera vez una prueba del único circuito internacional de pádel amateur en un país que vive en la actualidad un gran crecimiento del deporte de la paleta.

Puede que por sus condiciones tanto geográficas como climáticas se trate de un país famoso por sus deportes de invierno… Pero desde hace unos años, con los grandes éxitos logrados por Roger Federer, Stanislas Wawrinka o Martina Hingis, lo cierto es que los deportes de raqueta han comenzado a ganar en protagonismo. Y no solo el tenis. El pádel también está empezando a reclamar su espacio.

En 2010 comenzaron a crearse los primeros clubes de pádel y en 2016 el crecimiento está siendo espectacular. Además, la Asociación Pádel Suiza ha sufrido una gran reestructuración interna con el objetivo de de dar a conocer y promover el pádel tanto como sea posible. Se está fomentando la creación de nuevas pistas y por primera vez hay una liga nacional de pádel.

En la actualidad, hay un total de siete pistas de pádel repartidas por toda Suiza. Además de la ya mencionada anfitriona del Zurich Open, la ciudad de casi 400.000 habitantes cuenta con un centro recién estrenado, el Padel Club Zürich Unterland.El Tennis Murten und Squash Center, al sur del país, tiene una cancha mientras que Bächliacker Tennis- und Sportcenter Frenkendorf cuenta con dos. El mapa se completa con una pista en el Swiss Tennis Club Brugg y otra en el Tenniszentrum Horgen, también en Brugg.

La responsable del Padel im TC Unterengstringen, Claudia Bräm, aseguraba en una reciente entrevista que el pádel suizo afronta un año clave en su porvenir, por lo que acoger una prueba del único circuito internacional de pádel amateur puede ser muy importante de cara a la promoción interna y externa.
