P: ¿Cómo valoráis el International Padel Experience by Madison?

The Malaga Open gathered a couple of weeks ago the best national and local players along with the champions of the highest categories of the rest of the International Padel Experience by Madison event in a very exciting event that took place in the Paddle’s fantastic facilities Málaga Indoor.

Karlos Rodríguez Vidal and Saúl Rubio were crowned champions of the men’s top category at the Málaga Open after imposing their powerful, technical and guarded game that allowed them to overthrow all their rivals in the last meeting of the only international circuit that exists.

Question: What were your feelings at the Malaga Open?

Answer (Karlos): They were very good, except those we had in the first game, since we had never played and we were a bit lost but it is normal. With the passage of the games we were finding ourselves better and we reached the final very motivated and well-rounded.

Q: Did you win one of the tournament’s favorite doubles? How would you summarize the match in the final?

R (Saúl): It was incredible, a paddle of intelligence at its highest level. I had faced Juanma and Braulio endless times and I knew more or less his style of play, so I proposed to my partner to play in a way based on slowing the ball since they played very fast. We played well and we were able to deploy our most offensive game, with the help of fortune, as we got very complicated points.

Q: How did you see the level of the Malaga Open? And the champions of other tests?

R (Karlos): The level is very high, the first categories of Malaga are always very powerful and demanding. The Andalusian paddle and in particular, the Malaga, are living a great moment. In the same way, we observed that the IPE by Madison champions of other tests were very good. In our first round we played against Dublin sellers, Enrique and Javier, and it was a tough three-set game. We also saw the first round match between Braulio and Juanma against the Lisbon champions, and the level was impressive, which tells a lot about this great circuit and gives more value to our victory.

Q: What are the highlights of Padel as a sport?

R (Saúl): The fundamental values of the paddle are teamwork and constancy. I believe and I assure you that when a couple goes to one with their ideas and their style everything makes sense and it will go well, even if it loses but always with clear ideas. It is the second final that I play in the top category and I have long been behind it, it is a prize for constancy and not to give up despite the bumps. For Karlos it was his first final and although we were inferior than many couples of the picture, with hard work and companionship we obtained the victory, demonstrating that with humility and confidence IT CAN! That is the best value of this sport.

Q: How do you rate the International Padel Experience by Madison? What do you take from the circuit?

R (Saúl): I value it with an outstanding, because from the organization they make the paddle spread internationally and encourage people from other countries to play. The paddle is growing very much throughout Europe and the IPE by Madison is one of the main «culprits» of this great fact. I take the circuit knowing how the paddle is and play with people from outside. I saw some Italian guys with an incredible level, did not imagine that the paddle in Italy was so good.

Karlos: I am the first time I have signed up for one of his tests and the truth that surprised me for good. A paddle tournament is done by anyone, but organizing different events in multiple countries and helping the expansion of paddle in the world, is something that I admire, so I am very happy that this circuit exists and proud to have won one of its quotes.

Q: Paddle expansion is unstoppable, what do you think is the secret of success?

R (Saul and Karlos): Without a doubt, it’s a fun sport. On the paddle you can play and have fun with friends even the first time you play, even if you have no idea of rules or technique. It is a social game and in which you get a lot of connection with your partner. A smart and very fast game, which also offers the viewer a constant eye-popping that other sports do not have.

Q: Will you be encouraging in 2017 to sign up for more IPE by Madison?

R (Saúl y Karlos): Yes, we have loved the experience of playing with international partners. In addition, the organization was perfect and the awards very good. We really liked the professional treatment we received, since normally in amateur tournaments you do not play in advertising-filled clues like what happened at the Málaga Open, nor do you usually do interviews of this type, nor television, as there was. We encourage all the people who play the paddle to sign up for the tests of this great circuit.
