La dupla formada por Billie Gajic y Antonette Andersson, campeonas de la máxima categoría femenina del Malmö Open, continúa su periplo en la competición junto a la selección de Suecia. Tras pasar como segundas del Grupo B al perder contra Argentina (3-0) y vencer a Bélgica (3-0), las suecas derrotaron a Uruguay, en un aguerrido encuentro que terminaría 2-1. Hoy disputarán las semifinales contra el combinado español, las favoritas al título y vigentes ganadoras del galardón.

Bobby Seger y Andreas Palsson, ganadores del cuadro masculino en el Malmö Open y jugadores del equipo sueco, disputaron el pase a los cuartos de final contra otra pareja ganadora del IPE by Madison, la perteneciente a la selección de Gran Bretaña compuesta por Ryan Wyatt y Conor Silkman, que se alzaron con el trofeo en el Londres Open. Finalmente el billete para entrar entre los ocho mejores equipos del mundo fue para los británicos, que acabaron segundos del Grupo D, mientras que los escandinavos quedaron relegados al tercer puesto. Ya en cuartos de final, España terminó con las aspiraciones de los ingleses con un contundente 3-0.
