La tercera parada del International Padel Experience by Madison volvió a recalar en Italia tras su paso por Vicenza. Siracusa, situada en el sudeste de la isla de Sicilia, recibía al único circuito internacional de pádel amateur y la cita no defraudó. Hemos hablado con Ale Torrisi, que volvió a salir campeón de la cita por segundo año consecutivo junto a su pareja Amore. Torrisi nos ha contado sus experiencias en el torneo, sus sensaciones… basadas en la experiencia que supone para él haber disputado el torneo en más de una ocasión.
¿Qué es lo que más te gusto del IPE by Madison?
Sin ninguna todo lo que me encontré a nivel organizativo. Todo estaba perfectamente controlado y los encargados del torneo son gente muy profesional. Esto hace que la experiencia sea mucho más fácil para los jugadores y mucho más positiva.
¿Teníais el objetivo de ganar el torneo?
Si, fuimos campeones el año pasado y era imposible que no se no pasara por la cabeza la idea de ganar el torneo. Queríamos repetir y resultado y por suerte pudimos conseguirlo, ha sido muy gratificante.
¿Te gusta el ambiente del torneo? Los fans, los jugadores, la organización…
Si, es lo mejor del torneo sin ninguna duda. Me gustó mucho la variedad de nacionalidades que había en las pistas, había parejas argentinas, españolas, además del gran ambiente que crearon los sicilianos que acudieron a la cita. No fallaron y acudieron muchos al club.
¿Qué cosas cambiarías en estos torneos?
Es el segundo año que disputo el torneo de manera consecutiva, y a decir verdad no cambiaría nada.
¿Tenéis el sueño de ganar el Máster Final de Elvas?
Sería hermoso conseguirlo, ojalá no se quede solo en un sueño y podamos conseguirlo.
Cuentamé tu historia con el pádel, los inicios, algunas anécdotas, historias que recuerdes…
Empeceé a jugar hace 2 años en un club cercano a mi casa, el primer club que habría en Catania. Disfruto mucho jugando la verdad, también tengo que decir que me ha ayudado mucho jugar al tenis durante tantos años.
¿Qué piensas sobre el pádel en Sicilia y en Italia?
En Sicilia, el pádel comenzó hace algunos años, pero con el paso del tiempo me voy dando cuenta de que es un deporte que realmente gusta a la gente y está en una fase de crecimiento importante. No lleva tanto tiempo como en Roma , ya que al ser la capital, hace mucho tiempo que lo practican, en la región de Emilia Romagna también.
¿Te gusta la idea de viajar fuera de Italia para jugar al pádel?
Por supuesto que si, es toda una experiencia sin ninguna duda. Practicar uno de los deportes que más te gustan y además poder hacer turismo en grandes ciudades es realmente sensacional.

The third stop of the International Padel Experience by Madison returned to stop in Italy after passing through Vicenza. Syracuse, located in the southeast of the island of Sicily, received the only international amateur paddle circuit an the date didn’t disappoint. We spoke with Ale Torrisi, who returned to be champion of the tournament for the second year in a row with his partner Amore. Torrisi has told us about his experiences in the championship, his sensations based on the experience that it means for him to have played the tournament on more than one occasion.
What do you like most about the IPE by Madison?
Without any everything that I found at the organizational level. Everything was perfectly controlled and the people in charge of the tournament are very professional people. This makes the experience much easier for the players and much more positive.
Did you have the goal of winning the tournament?
Yes, we were champions last year and it was impossible that the idea of winning the tournament did not go through the head. We wanted to repeat and result and luckily we could get it, it has been very rewarding.
Do you like the atmosphere of the tournament? The fans, the players, the organization …
Yes, it is the best of the tournament without any doubt. I really liked the variety of nationalities that were on the slopes, there were Argentine couples, Spanish, in addition to the great atmosphere created by the Sicilians who attended the event. They did not fail and many went to the club.
What things would you change in these tournaments?
It is the second year that I have played the tournament consecutively, and in truth I would not change anything.
Do you have the dream of winning the Elvas Final Master?
It would be nice to get it, hopefully not stay alone in a dream and we can get it.
I told your story with the paddle, the beginnings, some anecdotes, stories you remember …
I started playing 2 years ago in a club near my house, the first club I would have in Catania. I really enjoy playing the truth, I also have to say that it has helped me a lot to play tennis for so many years.
What do you think about paddle tennis in Sicily and Italy?
In Sicily, the paddle started a few years ago, but with passage of time I am realizing that it is a sport that people really like and is in important growth phase. It does not take as long as in Rome, since being the capital, they have been practicing it for a long time, in the Emilia Romagna region as well.
Do you like the idea of traveling outside of Italy to play paddle tennis?
Of course, it’s an experience without any doubt. To practice one of the sports that you like the most ant also to be able to do tourism in big cities is really sensational.
