[:es]Roma, la ciudad que acogerá de nuevo vez una etapa del circuito, ya está preparada para recibir a todos los aficionados amantes del pádel, un ejercicio que cada vez está más presente entre los hobbies de todo aquel que posee espíritu deportivo. La esperada cita tendrá lugar del 23 al 25 de octubre en el Helios Village, y es que un espectáculo de esta talla no podría tener mejor anfitrión.
Así que cojan papel y boli todos aquellos que hayan decidido aventurarse como jugadores o espectadores de este circuito amateur y apunten, que aquí va una ruta por la capital italiana:
- El Coliseo Romano: Sin duda, el gran símbolo de Italia. Poco queda por decir de esta espectacular obra, que fue elegida en 2007 como una de las siete Nuevas Maravillas del Mundo. El Coliseo de Roma es el anfiteatro más grande construido durante el Imperio Romano. Durante más de 5 siglos ofreció espectáculos de fieras, batallas de gladiadores y representaciones de batallas.
- Foro Romano: Recorrer el Foro es volver atrás en el tiempo más de 20 siglos. Pasear por las calles por las que anduvo Julio César es un lujo al alcance de cualquier viajero.
- Ciudad del Vaticano: Imprescindibles visitar la ciudad-estado de la Santa Sede y sus numerosos monumentos: la Basílica de San Pedro (con su impresionante cúpula y La Pietà), La Plaza de San Pedro, la Necrópolis (descubierta por casualidad en 2003 y abierta al público desde 2006, la Necrópolis vaticana alberga la verdadera tumba del apóstol San Pedro, y los Museos Vaticanos (donde destaca la Capilla Sixtina).
- Fontana di Trevi: La fuente más bonita y espectacular de Roma, Millones de personas la visitan cada año y arrojan una moneda al agua esperando que el mito se convierta en realidad. Con unas dimensiones de 20 metros de anchura por 26 metros de altura, la Fontana de Trevi es también la fuente más grande de la ciudad.
- Panteón: Templo circular dedicado a todos los dioses romanos. Se cree que fue construido por órdenes del Emperador Adriano hacia el año 125 sobre las ruinas de un templo anterior. La entrada es gratuita.
- Plaza España y Plaza Navona: Son las dos plazas más famosas de Roma. La Plaza España es conocida por fu impresionante escalinata, que une la iglesia de Trinità dei Monti con la propia plaza, donde se encuentra la Fontana della Barcaccia, obra de Bernini. La Plaza Navona, por su parte, es un reguero de obras de arte (fontanas, palacios, iglesias…) siguiendo el trazado de un antiguo circo romano.
- Castillo de San Ángelo: El Castillo de Sant’Angello, cerca del Vaticano y orillas del Tíber, recibe a sus visitantes desde el puente homónimo y ya en la lejanía deja ver su majestuosidad. Adriano lo construyó como mausoleo para su familia, aunque con el tiempo llegó a ser residencia papal, fortaleza, etc. Hoy en día es un Museo Nacional, que puede visitarse por unos 6€.
Éstas son solo algunas de las propuestas que ofrece una ciudad con histórica, muy interesante y de un gusto exquisito que durante tres días se convierte en cuna del pádel amateur con el Roma Open, la duodécima parada del International Padel Experience by Madison patrocinado por Estrella Damm.
