Comienza la cuenta atrás para el inicio del Vicenza Open. Las pistas del Padel Club Vicenza acogerán del 23 al 25 de marzo la segunda parada del International Padel Experience by Madison, el único circuito internacional de pádel amateur. 

Hemos hablado con Davide Tortora, gerente del Padel Club Vicenza, que acogerá el torneo en la ciudad italiana.

¿Cómo ha evolucionado el club desde su nacimiento hasta hoy?

Desde el comienzo del proyecto a la gente le llamó mucho la atención nuestras jaulas (pistas de pádel) y mucha gente se acercaba por curiosidad y nos preguntaba. Nosotros les ofrecíamos una prueba gratuita y a partir de ese momento no han dejado de ir. También en época de frío sigue viniendo gente a jugar, con cero grados, paredes húmedas, etc…

¿Cómo ha evolucionado el pádel en Italia en los últimos años?

Ha crecido muchísimo en los últimos años. Al principio, la gente jugaba por diversión, pero en la actualidad ya podemos distinguir entre jugadores profesionales, que incluso muchos de ellos se van a entrenar a España y han participado en el campeonato del mundo y de Europa, tanto en categoría masculina como femenina. En el campeonato nacional, el equipo cuenta este año con varios jugadores en categoría World Padel Tour, incluso hasta Fernando Belasteguín juega para un club de Roma.

¿Cómo trabajáis para expandir el pádel en Vicenza?

Yo me considero un martillo que intenta transmitir a los socios mi pasión por este deporte. Continuamente estoy organizando partidos y torneos, todos ellos de un nivel igualado entre participantes para que a los jugadores les enganche más. Estoy en contacto también con otros clubes cercanos con los que intercambiamos ideas que nos sirvan para mejorar a todos y organizamos visitas a distintos clubes.

¿Por qué decidisteis sumaros al International Padel Experience by Madison?

El año pasado participé en Padua, que fue la sede que organizó el International Padel Experience by Madison en Italia y me gustó mucho el torneo. Me gustó mucha esa sensación de internacionalidad y apoyo que los patrocinadores daban al evento. Imaginé que la respuesta de la gente habría sido positiva también y me animé a organizarlo en mis instalaciones.

¿Qué es lo qué más os gusta de este circuito?

Sin duda alguna la posibilidad de visitar distintos lugares del mundo y estar junto a gente que tiene la misma afición que nosotros.

¿Está generando expectación el Vicenza Open?

¡Por el número de parejas inscritas parece que sí!

¿Cómo visualizáis el futuro de vuestro club?

Nos hemos convertido en un punto de reunión entre amigos, nuestra visión de negocio se basa en lo que une este deporte entre las personas que lo practica. He estado viviendo en países como México y España y me he dado cuenta que como une el pádel pocos deportes lo pueden conseguir. Mi objetivo no es solo que la gente nos visite para echar un partido de pádel, si no que, como valor añadido, nos visiten para pasar un rato entre amigos.

The countdown of the Vicenza Open is started. The courts of the Padel Club Vicenza will welcome from 23th to 25th the second stop of the International Padel Experience by Madison, the only international circuit of amateur padel. 

We talked with Davide Tortora, the manager of the Padel Club Vicenza, that will welcome the tournament in the italian city.

How is the evolution of your club since birth from today?

Since the beggining of the project, the people draw atenttion about our courts and a lot of persons aproached out of curiosity and asked us. We offerered them a free proof and since that moment they did not stop go on court. Also when it is cold people still coming to play, with zero degrees, wet walls…

How is the evolution of the padel in the country?

It grows up a lot in the last years. In the beggining, people played padel for had fun, but at this time, we could distinguish between proffesionals players, a lot of them go to Spain to train and they participated in the world championsip and in the Europe championsip, both in male and female category. In the national championsip, the team has this year with several players that have World Padel Tour category, even Fernando Belasteguín plays for a Rome Club.

How do you work to expand padel in your city?

I consider myself like a «hammer» and I try to transmit my passion for this sport to my partners. All my time I am organizing matchs and tournaments, all of them with an equal level between the players so that the player be happy. I am in contact with another clubs near of mine and we exchange information and ideas that it serve to improve all of us and we organize visits to another clubs.

Why did you decide to join the International Padel Experience by Madison?

Last year I participated in Padua, that it was the venue that organized the International Padel Experience by Madison in Italy and I liked so much the tournament. I liked this sensation of internationality and the support of the sponsors gave to the event. I imagined that the answer of the people would have been positive too and I encouraged myself to organize in my club.

What do you like most about this circuit?

Without any doubt the possibility to travel around a lot of cities and be with people that have the same passion that us.

Is the Vicenza Open generating excitement?

It seems that by the number of couples yes!

What future plans do you have for your club?

We have become in a meet point between friends, our business vision it is based on the union of this sport create. I was living in countries like Mexico or Spain and I realize that padel join people like not too much sports. Mi objetive is that people visit us to have a good time with their family or friends.
