¿Cuántos IPES has jugado?

Alfonso Patacho has been playing the International Padel Experience for two seasons. With his inseparable partner, the former footballer, Mario Barceló, has won two titles in Athens.

First of all, how are you? How are you living the theme of the pandemic?

I am very well, thank you. I am in Spain at the moment, as I had to come back from Leicester to spend quarantine with my family. Thankfully, I came back from the UK before lockdown was announced so I got home without any problems, whereas some of my friends in England are struggling to come back to their country of origin.

What news and feelings do you get from Spain regarding this pandemic? What message should be sent to the population?

Well, as I told you I am in Spain right now but the news are very sad to hear, although at the same time is comforting to know the Spanish population is complying with the rules applied by the government. What I would tell the population is to stay at home because between all of us we can and we will come back stronger from this unusual situation.

Have drastic measures been taken? What do you think?

I think the measures are adequate. However, I believe having seen what was happening in our neighboring country, Italy; these actions, in my opinion, should have been taken much earlier. Nonetheless, I want to reaffirm the commitment of the Spanish people in these tough times for everyone.

What do you do to spend time?

Although in lockdown, University work continues and I am working right now to finish my second year, so that takes more or less half of my time. I also try to do a little workout every day at home to keep fit, so when lockdown finishes I am in shape to compete. The rest of the day, I spend it watching TV and spending time with my family.

How many IPES have you played? What will be the first tournament you play?

I have played two IPES in Athens, Greece and one Master in Portugal. Will probably play the IPE in Greece

What do you think about the IPE 2020?

I have had a look at the different tournaments throughout the year, and I have noticed there are new countries in the circuit. I am very happy to see this great circuit, run by great people improve every year more and I hope you continue to grow as it will be well deserved
