[:es]El pádel se está convirtiendo en uno de los deportes de raqueta más populares en muchos países. Cada vez son más los aficionados que empuñan la pala para disfrutar de la diversión que representa meterse entre las cuatro paredes y en Irlanda la pasión por este deporte sigue al alza.
Los hermanos Cabello, Jesús y Joe, introdujeron el pádel en el país anglosajón en 2012 y desde entonces el deporte de la pala no ha dejado de crecer. Además del enorme esfuerzo y dedicación de Joe y Jesús una de las claves de la eclosión del pádel en Irlanda reside en el gran apoyo que siempre les ha brindado el Ministro de deportes y transporte irlandés, Michael Ring.
A pesar de los contras que suponen la climatología o el elevado precio de las construcciones en Irlanda, las ventajas que destila, como el potencial económico del país o la enorme cantidad de clubes donde levantar pistas, han conseguido ganar la batalla a los aspectos negativos y el pádel ya es uno de los deportes de moda en el país anglosajón. Actualmente en Irlanda hay más de 6.000 jugadores, 6 clubes y una proyección de futuro que augura un claro crecimiento.
La Federación de Pádel de Irlanda, con Joe Cabello a la cabeza, no cesa en la organización de actividades como ligas especiales, jornadas de puertas abiertas en clubes o competiciones entre colegios, iniciativas que no hacen sino elevar cada día el número de jóvenes deportistas que se enganchan al pádel en el país británico.
Año tras año, Irlanda se aproxima a convertirse en uno de los países europeos referencia en este deporte.[:en]Padel is turning into one of the most popular racket sports in many countries. The Cabello brothers, Jesús and Joe , introduced padel in Ireland in October 2012 and since then the sport of padel has not stopped growing. Besides the enormous effort and dedication of Joe and Jesús and many others, one of the key elements of its success in Ireland resides in the great support that former sports Minister, Michael Ring, gave from the start. Minister Ring inaugurated the first court in Ireland, in Rockbrook Park School. He provided a lot of inspiration and was a source of encouragement from the very beginning of padel in the country.
The Padel Federation of Ireland , with Joe Cabello leading the way, continue organising activities such as leagues and tournaments, open days in clubs or competitions between schools, etc. These initiatives are contributing to increase the number of young athletes who are hooked on padel in the country.
The upcoming inauguration of a new club in Bushy Park at the end of April is another step in the right direction. The Madison International will be one of the first activities taking place in the new Club. We wish the best to everyone in the Padel Federation of Ireland and we hope our tournament contributes to the spreading and take up of padel in the country.
Year after year Ireland is fast approaching to become one of the European reference countries in the sport of padel.
