Where to eat

Fish and Chips:

Enjoy between the breaks of the tournament for tourism

It is difficult to summarize the London tourist offer. The British capital is a large city, impossible to know in its entirety, even for those who live in it. Here are some essential places to visit:

Big Ben:

If there is an image that is identified with London (with permission from the booths and the iconic red buses) that is Big Ben. The clock of the parliament is one of the symbols of the city and is considered synonymous of punctuality: of it has been said that it did not lose his punctuality even during the bombings to the city in the Second World War.

As a curiosity, it is noteworthy that, although we all know as Big Ben the famous clock, the name actually corresponds to the huge bell inside of the tower.

Tower of London:

Built more than 900 years ago, in the second half of the 11th century, this fortification has served as a fortress, prison, arsenal and royal residence. Today is one of the obligatory visits to the city but it was, for several centuries, the symbol of the repression in the country. Thomas Moore or the Queen Consort Ana Bolena are just some of the most prominent names that were executed inside the walls of its tower.

Inside the Tower of London, you can visit the exhibition of the Crown Jewerly, the White Tower, the Medieval Palace and the Royal Chapel of San Pedro in Vincula.

British Museum:

London is synonymous with museums but, although there are many worthwhile, the British Museum is, without any doubt, the one you can not miss on your visit to the city. More than 7 million works from all over the world await you in its multiple rooms, free admission.

The British Museum is, with over 5 million annual visitors, the third most visited museum in the world, only surpassed by the Louvre of Paris and the Metropolitan Museum of New York.

Buckingham Palace:

Built in 1703, Buckingham Palace is the official residence of the British Royal Family. Although visiting the interior is difficult, since it is only open a few weeks per year, thousands of visitors are gathered every day at their doors to enjoy the show of the Changing of the Guard.

Hyde park:

With over 140 acres, Hyde Park can be considered the lung of London. Located in the center of the British capital, it can be accessed from touristic points such as Buckingham Palace, Marble Arch or Oxford Street among others.

One of the most famous places of this park is the speakers corner, where on Sunday mornings all kinds of people meet to proclaim their speeches to anyone who wants to listen. Although at present this point is maintained, it had its maximum splendor during World War II, since it was the only place in which anyone could expose their opinions about Churchill or Hitler without fear of being retaliated.

Covent Garden:

A few minutes from Holborn, right in the heart of the city, you will find this fascinating place. Do not be fooled by its name, Covent Garden is a square, with a market inside, where you can enjoy a delicious coffee while listening to one of the concerts of street performers, lose yourself between the shops or attend the Opera, in this square is the Royal Opera House.

Where to eat

It is impossible to select only a few restaurants in a city like London. That is why, on this occasion we want to recommend some of the dishes that you will need to try if you want to be able to say that you have visited the city.

Fish and Chips:

The English dish par excellence. It consists of fried battered hake, accompanied by French fries. Although it sounds simple, there have to be a reason to have become the gastronomic icon of the city.

British Breakfast:

Baked beans, bacon, eggs, fried or grilled tomatoes, fried mushrooms, fried or toasted bread, and sausages, usually accompanied by a cup of tea. It sounds blunt and it is. Enjoy this breakfast on a Sunday in any of the traditional pubs you’ll find on any of the streets and feel like authentic English.

Afternoon tea:

Although the tradition of 5 o’clock tea is being lost as a habit, there are places to enjoy the full experience, the cafeterias of luxury hotels will make you feel like a true British of high society.

Transporte

Getting to the David Lloyd Bushey Club by public transport is easy. In front of the club buses 398, 602, 823 and 833 pass. However, we provide the Google maps link with which you can find the best route to get from your starting point.
